19-year-old Mia Scholle is transferring from SC Freiburg to Strobelallee. Last season, she played for Freiburg in the Bundesliga 2, and previously represented the club at U17 level. Before moving to Freiburg in 2021, the midfielder played for FC Alemannia Wilferdingen and attracted attention at DFB training centres. She was also a successful track and field athlete as a child. “I want to take the next step in my development and think that the chances of doing so are great at such a good club,” says Mia Scholle.
Lucy Wisniewski is another young talent joining the BVB women’s team. The 17-year-old comes from FSV Gütersloh, where she was already part of the second division squad at the age of 16. Born in Hamm, she previously played for BV 09 Hamm, TuS Germania Lohauserholz and SV Westfalia Rhynern before joining the U16 team of FSV Gütersloh in 2022. “I was particularly impressed by how professional everything is here and how many opportunities you get as a result. The conditions here are perfect for improving,” said Wisniewski.
Deniese Lichatschow will complete the BVB women’s goalkeeping group for the coming season. The 18-year-old has been playing for Alemannia Aachen since the U15s and made the leap to the first team last year, where she was the substitute goalkeeper. “Borussia Dortmund always seemed so far away for me because it’s such a big and powerful club. Now to be able to wear the Black & Yellow jersey is incredible,” says Lichatschow.
