Yannick Bolasie returns to Everton after canceling Aston Villa loan

Aston Villa supporters were incensed when they found out that the club were paying all of Yannick Bolasie’s €80,000-per-week wage, despite being a Championship club.

Now, after starting just nine games and scoring two goals, Bolasie is headed back to Goodison Park.

“Yannick Bolasie is returning to Everton after the player exercised an option to return to his parent club,” Aston Villa in a statement.

“The club would like to thank Yannick for his contribution to Aston Villa during his loan spell and wish him all the best in his future career.”

The timing to cancel his loan spell at Aston Villa came as a surprise to many after he started and went the full 90 minutes in Villa’s 2-2 come-from-behind draw against Hull on Saturday.
