One of the biggest mysteries of Southampton’s incredibly tumultuous season has been the status of Yan Valery.

Valery had been in and out of the Saints’ starting XI during the beginning of the season but then wasn’t seen for over three months, with various theories going around about his whereabouts.

Ralph Hasenhüttl had only told the press that Valery was ill and now the Frenchman has taken to social media to explain the exact nature of his illness.

Valery returned to the bench for the Aston Villa clash in late February and finally took to the pitch once again against Newcastle, Southampton’s final break before the season was put on hold due to coronavirus.

We’re certainly glad that the 21-year-old has made a full recovery.
