It would appear that the instability which was once expected at Barcelona for next season may have to wait. A lot of the speculation surrounding Barça was fixated around the problem of the managerial position. For several months, it was thought by many that Barcelona would ultimately have to look for a new coach.

With Xavi Hernandez having previously stated that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season, it seemed quite plausible that Barcelona would have to do some searching to find an adequate replacement in time for next season. Rafa Marquez was one of those options, but it seems even he may have to wait for that chance.

According to reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Xavi Hernandez is going nowhere. After much discussion and conversation, it is reported that the Barcelona coach is set to continue with the club for an additional season with the club and stay behind to complete his original commitment as per his new contract.

Romano reports that Xavi has finally accepted the latest proposal that Barcelona has put forward. The final decision only came tonight after Xavi had a formal conversation with both Barcelona president Joan Laporta and club director Deco.

Even previously, it appears that Laporta has been trying for some time now to convince Xavi to stay. There were major doubts about the reliability of whoever might end up replacing him potentially, but it seems that Xavi himself remains the ideal candidate for the president and most within Barcelona seem to be on board with it.

For one more season at least, Xavi remains with La Blaugrana. The club legend has already won both a La Liga title and a Spanish Super Cup during his stint as the Barcelona manager and he continues to aspire for more silverware and success. While the ongoing season has been nothing short of disappointing, it seems that Barcelona trust his project in the long run.
