While the delay in La Liga’s approval of the Feasibility Plan has clouded Barcelona’s transfer strategies, top-class players around Europe continue to be linked with the club as the Catalans remain a hot topic heading into the upcoming transfer window.
Since Xavi took over the helm at Barcelona, wingers have particularly been highly sought after. The demand for such players stems from Xavi’s inclination to preach emphasis on width holders as well difference makers out wide.

According to SPORT, it appears that Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry is on his way out as Bayern are devising an exit for the German International.
Gnabry, at 27 years of age, has already achieved innumerable accolades with a great track record behind him. Despite not playing regularly for the Bavarians this season, he scored 17 goals and provided 12 assists in 47 games.
The report claims Xavi is an admirer of Gnabry’s abilities, which does not come as a surprise, owing to his preference for wingers of that stature.
Moreover, before Xavi had taken the Blaugrana job back in 2020, he mentioned in an interview, “They [Barcelona] do not need many new players, except maybe Jadon Sancho, Serge Gnabry,”
However, Barcelona’s current situation restrict the club from making a move for the Bayern forward. With an abundance of right-wingers such as Dembele, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres, profiles akin to Gnabry already exist, deeming his potential arrival needless.
While Xavi’s fondness for the player has been made clear, pursuing a player with a market value of €55 million does not coincide with the club’s market strategy, especially when Gnabry would largely be considered a luxury signing.
Taking into account Bayern’s willingness to sell the player, it would not be surprising if the Catalans made progress over the matter. However, as of now, the immediate priorities appear to be recouping Lionel Messi and reinforcing the most weaker areas of the squad.
