La Liga champions Barcelona are on the verge of closing a deal for leading transfer target Nico Williams.

That’s according to Jijantes, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of wide-man Nico has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines across all of Spain once more over the course of the day to date.

This comes after a series of reports were forthcoming, adamant that Barcelona have hit something of a snag in their efforts to land the 22-year-old.

Mundo Deportivo, for one, assured that talks between the parties are at a standstill, after Nico and his entourage demanded new guarantees regarding his registration for next season.

All of a Blaugrana persuasion, in turn, were quick to express their concern with the situation.

As alluded to above, though, mere hours on, such supporters have received reassurance.

This comes amid a fresh report on the part of Jijantes, detailing that:

‘Barca are speeding up for Nico Williams: Contracts ready for his signing.

The player’s entourage knows that all documents are prepared to expedite his arrival at the club. The Athletic winger, very close to becoming a new culé player.’
