Barcelona have been linked with a multitude of players in the final days of the winter transfer window. Judging by the reports, two positions particularly catch attention as having more priority over others- left-back and striker.

Despite the board working tirelessly on reinforcing the two voids, not much has been spoken about Xavi’s priorities, while the manager has the final decision in such matter.

According to the Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Xavi would like it if Nicolas Tagliafico arrived at the club, but still feels that the top priority is a striker. The coach has his eyes set on Alvaro Morata, and the club is working hard to make space on the wage roster.

Earlier this month, Morata’s speculated move to Barcelona seemed to be off the cards because Juventus could not sign a replacement. However, the situation has changed now.

The Bianconeri are in advanced talks to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina, and according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a move is expected to be completed in the coming days. With his arrival, Morata’s path to Barcelona becomes clear.

The one obstacle in the Catalans’ path is the lack of room on the wage bill. Hence, the Spaniard’s arrival is directly linked with Ousmane Dembele’s future.

Moussa Sissoko, Dembele’s agent, arrived in Barcelona yesterday and is set to meet with the board. If an exit for the Frenchman can be negotiated, the signing of Morata will be a real possibility.

In 22 games for the Old Lady, Morata has scored five goals and notched up three assists. If he does arrive at Barcelona, he will join an elite list of players to have represented all three top Spanish Clubs.
