It is rare that the world of the Hoops gets mixed with professional wrestling but that has been happening a lot more often in recent times than in the past. It was not too long ago that the WWE released a special Celtic-themed title belt. And one of their biggest superstars was pictured wearing it recently.
We have seen CM Punk in Celtic gear before. He wore the club's track top after WWE's Clash at the Castle event last year.
This time around, he was wearing the iconic green-and-white home jersey. Not just that, he had the aforementioned Celtic-themed Championship belt as well.
And he took the opportunity to take a dig at both the Rangers and fellow WWE superstar, Drew McIntyre, who is a well-known supporter of the Ibrox club. Of course, the two had a legendary feud last year, which ended with the Chicago native coming out on top. CM Punk said before smiling into the camera:
"Does Drew not like Celtic? Oh, that's too bad. Which is the superior team, Drew?"
There is no doubt that a lot of Celtic supporters are fans of the WWE as well. CM Punk is one of the most popular superstars in recent history. So, they will certainly enjoy this.
If you talk strictly about the world of WWE right now, it looks like CM Punk is headed for a headline match at the upcoming WrestleMania. It will be a triple threat between himself, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, three of the biggest star's pro wrestling history.
CM Punk has openly been chasing a WrestleMania main event for many years now, going back to his first stint with the company. It will be interesting to see if he gets that honour this time. There is no doubt who the Celtic fans will be supporting.
