Another superb WSL weekend in the books. Hereâs what you couldnât afford to miss âŠ
Another weekend, another goal, another record for Vivianne Miedema.
The Arsenal striker became the first player in WSL history to score against every team she has faced in the competition with a superb opener against Manchester United.
Never in doubt.
It wouldnât be a regular day of WSL without goals from Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby. The former netted a first-half hat-trick against Birmingham City, the latter scored the first and the last in a 5-0 win.
But it was Kirbyâs opener that really caught the eye.
Kirbyâs second was her 100th goal for Chelsea, making her the first player to reach that tally for the club.
We donât know either.
While the top two run away at the top of the league, the fight for third just gets more interesting.
Brighton (third) surprisingly lost to Reading, Tottenham (beaten by West Ham) couldnât take advantage, and Manchester United ended up not losing any ground despite their defeat to Arsenal.
Just three points separate third and sixth. Just five separate third and tenth. Itâs anybodyâs to claim.
It looked like it was going to be another long afternoon for Manchester City as they chased just their third win of the season.
Still 0-0 with Aston Villa at half-time, they came out after the break and made a statement, scoring within minutes of the restart before running out 5-0 winners.
A special mention for substitute Hayley Raso, who netted twice and assisted another.
