According to Alan Nixon, the Red Dragons are readying an offer that will see the Wales international earn over £30,000 per week with a move from Bramall Lane.

It’s believed that any deal to sign the 32-year-old could cost up to £4 million, with the club looking to add experience to the side ahead of the new Championship campaign.

Parkinson will be keen to strengthen his squad, with Wrexham eyeing survival in the division after earning promotion from League One last year at the first attempt.

Parkinson has confirmed that Moore is someone that Wrexham have looked at this summer as part of their recruitment process.

However, he’s claimed that the club have looked at a lot of names, both in the UK and abroad, as they consider their options in the transfer market.

"Kieffer's under contract at Sheffield United," said Parkinson, via the BBC.

“He's one of a number of players we've looked at over the summer.

"Like I said, the landscape changes in the transfer market very quickly from one week to the next.

"We're looking at lots of options here and abroad."

Wrexham’s summer business

Wrexham have been active in the transfer market so far this summer as they prepare for life in the Championship.

Liberato Cacace, George Thomason, Lewis O’Brien and Ryan Hardie have all joined on a permanent basis, with Danny Ward and Josh Windass also arriving as free agents.

The Red Dragons will be keen to do further business, with their sights set on being competitive in the second division and avoiding a relegation scrap.

Wrexham’s campaign begins on 9 August with a clash against Southampton.

Moore signing risks being quite expensive

Moore played 27 times in the Championship last season, scoring five times, in a team that chased promotion to the Premier League.

It was a difficult campaign for the 32-year-old, who is now showing clear signs of no longer being at his peak ability.

A £4 million deal and £30,000 per week wages increases the risk Wrexham would be taking on with this kind of signing, as that’s a lot to pay for someone coming into the final stages of his career.

Wrexham have shown their willingness to spend in recent years, but they should perhaps be looking at how to reduce the cost of this deal, especially if it would take up a sizable chunk of their remaining budget.
