Brazil are currently favourites to win the 2022 World Cup.

Now, that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise because their national team is absolutely stacked with incredible ballers.

Neymar, Vinicius Junior, Gabriel Jesus, Casemiro, Alisson Becker represent five of the Selecao’s headline talents.

But the sheer depth of quality in their squad – which we recently covered because it’s just too amazing not to – is something out of the ordinary.

So blessed are Brazil with world class footballers, that nobody actually knows how they’re going to line up in Qatar.

And for that reason, we thought we’d do a little bit of speculating and analyse five of the best ways Brazil could set themselves up for glory at the 2022 World Cup.

Option one: 4-3-3 attack

One thing that you always want to see from a Brazil team is an emphasis on attack.

There is simply no point having ballers like Neymar and Vinicius if you aren’t going to give them the freedom to work their magic and, in this formation, we’ve prioritised that need.

GK – Alisson

RB – Danilo CB – Marquinhos CB – Militao LB – Lodi

CM- Casemiro CM – Fabinho CAM – Neymar

RW – RodrygoST – Jesus LW – Vinicius

Before you say it, we are aware that statistically it’s not the best attacks that win World Cups but the best defences, but we feel like despite the attacking formation, the inclusion of two world class defensive midfielders provides enough cover here.

Whilst the fluid and creative set-up will allow the genius of their stars to flourish.

Option two: 4-3-3 attack with different personnel

Okay, so just to do a little demonstrating on the matter of Brazil’s unholy level of squad depth, we’re going to use exactly the same formation but keep only a few key players.

CM – CasemiroCM – Guimaraes / FredCAM – Neymar / Coutinho / Paqueta

The squad depth of Brazil really is quite baffling with even many leading Premier League players unable to make the first team.

Option three: 4-3-3 with a false nine

GK – Allison

RB – Danilo CB – Marquinhos CB – Militao LB – Lodi

CDM – Casemiro CM – Guimaraes CM – Coutinho

RW – ViniciusCF – FirminoLW – Neymar

Wouldn’t this be a turn up for the books? Firmino defies the odds and starts for the Selecao in Qatar.

Admittedly, it seems unlikely, but at the same time he has been pretty much the best false nine this generation of football has ever known.

Firmino’s incredible intelligence in the role combined with his dogged work rate could make him a real asset to the team and work wonders with Neymar and Vinicius either side of him.

It could also be a useful way to get Guimaraes or Coutinho into the starting XI.

Having really thought about it, this rather unconventional three at the back could potentially be the golden ticket for Brazil.

It hides their deficiencies – their full backs – better than any other formation, simply because they would now have none.

Whilst also adding another world-beating player to the team in Chelsea’s Silva.

The attack has hardly been compromised on and the addition of Richarlison, who’s been on top form for Spurs recently, could be yet another great addition to the side.
