Women’s sport continues to take centre stage this summer, with the wait for the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup finally over.

Six Nations champions and host nation England will kick the tenth edition of the tournament off. The Red Roses are up against the United States at the Stadium of Light in the opening clash of the tournament.

The 2025 Rugby World Cup will run until the final and Bronze Final on September 27th. Quarter-finals will take place across September 13-14th, followed by the semis on September 19th and 20th.

As two-time winners of the World Cup, the Red Roses will be looking to lift the trophy once more, this time on home soil. They last claimed the honours in 2014 in France, ten years after their first triumph in Scotland.

How to watch the 2025 Rugby World Cup on TV and live stream

There will be plenty of TV coverage of the World Cup action this year. The BBC will be showing the action across its channels and on the BBC iPlayer throughout the tournament for UK fans.

The Red Roses’ opener against the USA will be shown live on BBC One and iPlayer from 6.30pm BST this evening. Radio Five Live and BBC Sounds will also provide radio coverage. Find out more about the matches being aired in the UK across the opening weekend here.

RTÉ will be the home of the World Cup for viewers in Ireland, while fans in the US can tune in via CBS Sports and Paramount+.

2025 Rugby World Cup tickets

The Red Roses’ opener against the US and the final on September 27th have attracted the most interest from match-goers.

The final has officially sold out, with approximately 82,000 fans set to fill Allianz Stadium Twickenham. Organisers expect the showdown to smash the record attendance for a women’s rugby match.
