WOMEN'S PRIMAVERA IN GREAT FORM

A reaction from a great side, stable at the top of a tight and high-level league. It's a great period for our Women's Primavera team: in fact, from 28 January to today, the young Rossonere have earned five wins (including the derby away to Inter) and a draw - against league leaders Roma - in the league, as well as a second successive trophy win at the Viareggio Women's Cup. A run that has taken them, after winning 3-1 away to Parma, to second place in the standings with 37 points.

It is an important result because it has been achieved in a league that has never been so tough: after 18 games, the top six are within eight points of each other, with only four teams getting the chance to advance to the Final Four Scudetto stage. For Coach Zago's girls, it is a great reaction following two defeats that opened the calendar year in January: "It is a season full of challenges, both individually and for the team", our coach said. "The journey so far has taken us through some positive moments, such as Viareggio, the away game to Torino, the two derbies, and some difficult ones, such as the two matches against Sassuolo and Sampdoria at the beginning of the year."

The third season of the team's existence has undoubtedly been the most eventful one, as seen by the double promotion on a technical level: Coach Corti's call to the First Team was in fact followed by the promotion of Matteo Zago to head coach of the young Rossonere. There has also been a period of adjustment physiologically, due to a team that has changed a lot compared to recent years and is always characterised by numerous under-age players: the results, however, continue to be excellent. The Rossonere remain at the top of a league that has never been so competitive, and backing it up with another Viareggio title has helped them develop their technical quality.

"It was a precious moment of sharing and interaction", said the Coach in reference to the Viareggio Women's Cup, "which allowed us to consolidate a process of union and awareness that had already begun in the previous months and which continues on a daily basis, one step at a time, dreaming but working hard". Zago concludes by looking at the season as a whole and the importance of experiencing every type of moment, even difficult ones: "Having the girls experience these 'obstacles' as part of the journey and as extraordinary opportunities for growth and relationships, becoming passionate about their own personal stories, is one of the most important and rewarding challenges. All this is in harmony with an environment which, respecting the prestige and tradition of the Club, aims for excellence but also for enhancing the potential of each athlete."
