Wolverhampton Wanderers are in negotiations with Ajax to find a solution for the transfer of young winger Carlos Forbs, but a deal looks difficult to conclude given the financial constraints, according to The Athletic.
After completing a move for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone on the final day of the transfer window, Gary O’Neil’s club are now working to add another winger to their ranks.
Ajax’s 20-year-old winger Forbs is one of the options they are looking into.
Forbs joined Ajax from Manchester City’s youth academy only last August and played in 32 matches overall for them.
He even went on to make eight goal contributions, two of which came in the Europa League.
Wolves scouts have identified his potential and the club are keenly working on a move to take him to Molineux.
A fresh proposal was submitted to Ajax on Friday morning and now the two clubs are working to find a solution.
However, given Wolves’ limited transfer budget, the deal might be difficult to conclude.
