FLW takes a look at two players that could move to the South West before September 1st.
Bristol City are surely facing some big decisions in the final week of the transfer window, and Gerhard Struber could look towards Premier League loans to address some squad depth issues.
The Robins started the 25/26 campaign off brightly, hammering Sheffield United 4-1 at Bramall Lane, but have drawn their last two league games against arguably weaker opposition.
With Struber preferring a three-at-the-back formation, City have very little cover in that area and seemingly rotate one out of the four (Rob Dickie, George Tanner, Rob Atkinson or Zak Vyner) to warm the bench on a Championship matchday.
Uncertainty still surrounds Sinclair Armstrong's future at Ashton Gate, following FLW's exclusive that the Robins are willing to sanction his departure before deadline day.
Keeping this in mind, FLW takes a look at two players that could move to Ashton Gate before September 1st.
Liverpool's Jayden Danns could be the type of striker needed to give Emil Riis tough competition at Bristol City should Sinclair Armstrong leave the club.
The 19-year-old has scored three goals in nine first-team appearances for Liverpool, featuring under both Jürgen Klopp and Arne Slot.
Reports have previously suggested that a loan move for Danns is on the cards for 25/26, and that a number of EFL sides would be expected to be keeping a close eye on him.
Taking inspiration from Divin Mubama - who has two league goals for Stoke already this season on loan from Manchester City - Danns is yet to experience any second-tier football despite going on loan to Sunderland in February.
During Danns' medical with the Black Cats, a back problem was discovered, and he never recovered in time to feature for the club during their promotion-winning season.
Having scored in his first PL2 game of the season against Leicester City, Danns is seemingly back to his usual self after the unfortunate setback at Sunderland, and could be an excellent player to have in the squad for Bristol City at Championship level.
Nottingham Forest's Zach Abbott would undoubtedly help address the Robins' shortage of central defenders.
Even though Abbott has only made three first-team appearances for Forest, he captained England's Under-19's at their European Championships earlier this summer, and signed a new contract at the City Ground until 2029.
One of those first-team outings was starting against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final last season, which shows he's got the quality to seek regular game time elsewhere.
So far this season, he's only managed to make the bench against Brentford in the Premier League, but he has started both of Forest's PL2 matches against Arsenal and West Ham so far this season.
It's somewhat clear that Abbott is seen as a squad option by Nuno Espírito Santo at the moment, but it'd be hard for him to get a starting place over Nikola Milenkovic or Murillo anyway.
Ultimately, both Danns and Abbott would offer quality depth to Struber's squad and be hungry for regular minutes of first-team football, similar to George Earthy in 24/25, who signed for City on loan from West Ham.
Earthy made four appearances for the Hammers before playing 39 league games for the Robins, which is why both players on this list are realistic options.
