Wolves midfielder Tommy Doyle reportedly accepts that he’s likely to be heading out of the Molineux exit door this summer.

The 23-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Wolves in recent times, and it now seems he’s being lined up by a number of Championship clubs for next season.

Although Doyle looked a fine prospect when he first joined Wolves from Manchester City, things just haven’t quite worked out for him and it now looks like a departure this summer would be for the best for everyone involved.

It remains to be seen which specific clubs will be in the race for Doyle, but there was some interest from Sunderland back in January, so they could be a team to watch again in the weeks and months ahead.

Doyle doesn’t look to have much of a future at Wolves, and journalist Graeme Bailey has spoken to Molineux News about the England Under-21 international’s future.

“It seems Doyle is increasingly likely to go. There’s a lot of Championship interest in him, we’re going to see a fair few Championship players go, so there’s plenty of opportunities for quite a few teams,” Bailey said.

“He’ll find a club, he’ll be alright, it’s just he’s not particularly suited to Vitor Pereira’s system, that’s just how it is. I think the player is accepting that and that will facilitate his exit.”

In less positive news for Wolves, there could also be doubts over some other big names this summer.

Joao Gomes and Rayan Ait-Nouri have also impressed and could also be lined up for moves to bigger clubs.
