According to Foot Mercato, Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to challenge Ligue 1 clubs Lille OSC, RC Strasbourg Alsace and FC Lorient for the signature of Al-Shabab forward Habib Diallo (28).

Diallo, who scored 20 goals in 37 appearances with Strasbourg last season, was one of many players to leave Europe and transfer to Saudi Arabia last summer, however, the move has not gone to plan. The Senegalese forward has just one goal in 16 games for Al-Shabab, and according to Foot Mercato, the Saudi club are open to a loan departure this month.

Currently, at the Africa Cup of Nations, Diallo is attracting European interest. Former club Strasbourg are one of three French clubs to register their interest, whilst the Senegalese forward is also attracting interest from the Bundesliga and the Premier League. Faced with the absence of Victor Boniface, Bayer Leverkusen could take Diallo on loan this month, whilst Wolves are also interested.
