According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Wolverhampton Wanderers have seen a bid rejected for France youth international Bastien Meupiyou (18).
France U18 international Meupiyou made his first-team debut last season, coming on for nine minutes in a 1-1 draw as FC Nantes drew to Olympique de Marseille at the Beaujoire. However, the for most part, the centre-back has been featuring for Les Canaris’ renowned academy side, who have recently performed well in European-level competitions.
His appearances have caught the eyes of clubs, including Premier League side Wolves, who have lodged a bid to sign Meupiyou. According to Hawkins, the bid was worth €5m plus a further €1m in add-ons. However, this offer has been rejected by Nantes, who are expected to be embroiled in a relegation battle once again this season.
The centre-back himself already has an agreement in principle to join Wolves, according to Hawkins. The English side must, however, now find an agreement with Nantes.
