Wolves: 55 y/o manager could now be back on Molineux radar
What’s the latest news involving Lage?
Although it has been a promising first campaign under Lage’s stewardship, Wolves will go into their clash with title-chasing Liverpool on the final day of the season without a win in their last six fixtures.
That downturn in form has ultimately cost Wolves a European qualification spot, with them falling away from the Premier League’s top seven.
Lage has bagged 17 victories since relocating to the West Midlands, but it seems he has already started to lose members of the dressing room.
That is because, according to Football Insider, Wolves stars are protesting against Lage’s plans to implement a new system.
It is understood that the Portuguese, who previously won two trophies in his homeland with Benfica, is keen to move away from selecting three central defenders and instead deploy a back four.

What has Ryan Taylor said about the situation?
Taylor has hinted that Wolves could reignite their interest in Lopetegui ahead of the 2022/23 season getting underway.
The journalist feels there is a possibility that a change could be made in the dugout, with Lage being ousted from Molineux.
Taylor told GIVEMESPORT: “An interesting one is that Julen Lopetegui is going to leave Sevilla. He came close to managing Wolves not too long ago, I think before Nuno.
“With Lage, there is a feeling around Wolves at the moment where there is almost sort of unhappiness at the lack of excitement.”
Is a move for Lopetegui likely?
Lopetegui has confirmed that he was close to taking over at Wolves in 2016, so it is clear that there has been dialogue between the Molineux hierarchy and the Spaniard in the past.
The 55-year-old has since gone on to enjoy success in his homeland and led Sevilla to Europa League glory two years ago.
But the door has opened for a potential move to the Premier League as respected journalist Jose Manuel Garcia, via Get Spanish Football News, revealed Lopetegui is set to leave La Liga giants Sevilla at the end of the season.
