Mohamed Amoura has 20 goal contributions (10 goals and 10 assists) this season, becoming the first Wolfsburg player since Kevin de Bruyne to reach double figures in both goals and assists in a single campaign. The Belgian scored 10 goals and created 21 in the 2014/15 season, and now Amoura is following in De Bruyne’s footsteps.
Per Kicker, Amoura is only the eighth player to achieve double figures for goals and assists in a debut Bundesliga season since assists started being recorded in the 1988/89 season.
The 24-year-old joined Wolfsburg on loan from Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer for €3m, but the Wolves soon decided to sign Amoura on a permanent basis for a reported €15m. The Algerian’s performances has ignited interest from Premier League clubs Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as fellow Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Should Wolfsburg decide to sell Amoura in the summer, they would only be interested should they receive a fee in excess of €40m.
