Journalist James Pearce has given an update on Liverpool's plans for the remainder of the summer transfer window.

The Reds have signed three players so far this summer. Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay have all joined the club.

However, Pearce has said that the Liverpool supporters should not be expecting anymore arrivals this summer.

“With the window open for another two months, I don’t think anyone can say with any certainty that there will be no more incomings,” he wrote in his Liverpool Mailbag for The Athletic.

“However, as things stand, senior Anfield figures have indicated that they don’t expect any further signings.

“Klopp is happy with what he’s got. Strengthening the midfield is obviously a hot topic of debate but unless they can recruit the right player at the right price, they’ll wait until next summer to further bolster that department.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

It is great that Liverpool have completed their business early on in the window. The new players will have a full pre-season to work with Jurgen Klopp. That can only be beneficial in the long run.

Only time will tell if Liverpool are to secure another signing or two. Klopp does possess a very strong squad, so we wouldn't be surprised if he didn't delve into the summer transfer window again.

But, we strongly believe that you can never have too many good players in your squad. Liverpool do possess an ageing midfield.

Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara are both in their 30s. So, we would not be against the Reds signing a midfielder this summer.
