Chelsea ace Charly Musonda Jr set to make an announcement about his future after returning from injury

According to the official Instagram account of Charly Musonda Jr (h/t The Metro), the winger has confirmed that he has returned to Chelsea training from his injury and will make an announcement on his future soon.

Musonda was an exciting prospect as a youngster when he joined the youth set up of the West London club back in 2012 from Anderlecht. Although he was only 16 at the time, he made the step up from the U-18 side to the U-21 side in just a couple of years.

At 19, he joined Spanish outfit Real Betis and then came back and join Chelsea’s development squad. However, the 24-year-old has not been able to kick-start his career at Stamford Bridge since then, while he has also made loan moves to Vitesse and Celtic.

Injuries have hampered his career massively, especially the posterior cruciate ligament injury he suffered back in 2019. All in all, Musonda has only made 7 senior appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit after spending nearly a decade at the club.

However, he has now recovered and is also back in training. He posted a video recently on his official Instagram account with the message (h/t The Metro):

‘Hey guys, I am fully fit and have been training, an announcement on my future is coming very soon,’

‘No one can stop someone who never gives up, I will be back at the top level, for now, I can continue to work in silence and gain momentum, with my belief intact always, thank you for the support.’

While nobody knows what the announcement is, it would be a good sight for Chelsea fans to see the once-promising youngster back in training after a horrific injury. The main aim for Musonda should now be to put his head down and get his career back on track.
