As reported by Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Hertha Berlin will sign French attacker Wilfried Kanga (24) from BSC Young Boys for a reported fee less than €5m.
Kanga has completed his medical with the Bundesliga club and will likely sign a deal until 2026, with potential for a one-year extension.
Because of Kanga’s move, Hertha Berlin will not pursue a further move for Strasbourg forward Ludovic Ajorque despite having an agreement with the player, according to Kicker. The French side wanted a fee close to €15m, a figure the Bundesliga side are unwilling to pay after failing to sell some of their assets.
Kanga scored 16 goals and created five in 42 games across all competitions for Young Boys last season and has scored 18 in 44 since joining from Kayserispor in July 2021.
Hertha Berlin are also seeking a buyer for Krzysztof Piątek (27), who spent last six months on loan at Fiorentina, and is allowed to leave the Bundesliga side.
