Alphonse Areola's wife was key to signing permanently with West Ham United this summer.
After an impressive loan from PSG last season, the France goalkeeper signed outright for the Hammers.

However, as West Ham took their time, Areola received offers from across Europe.
Former club Fulham were keen, while there was major interest from Spain and France.
However, L'Equipe says Areola's wife insisted on staying in London, so giving West Ham the decisive advantage.
