After falling short in the 2019 Liga MX Apertura final against the Rayados of Monterrey, América are still preparing to restructure their squad for the upcoming season.
Uruguayan defender Sebastián Cáceres has been long linked to the Mexican giants and should still be coming to Mexico City shortly.

However, there’s still one huge thing holding the deal up. According to reports out of Mexico, América and Liverpool (URU) have agreed to a fee for the player but are still negotiating how much of Cáceres’ economic rights the Uruguayan club will retain.
It had been rumoured that Liverpool wanted to keep 30% of the player’s rights but América are obviously looking to own a bigger piece of the player.
The 20-year-old centre-back, who’s bound to be called up to the national team imminently, made 26 appearances for Uruguay’s fifth-placed side.
Liverpool won last season’s Torneo Intermedio and just missed out on Copa Libertadores qualification.
