After saying goodbye to the pitches at the end of the Apertura 2024, Jesús Sanchez hung up his boots and closed his time as a Rojiblanco player after 17 years, however, he is ready to take on a new professional challenge with the team of his love, as 'Chapo' joins the board of directors of the Rebaño Sagrado as Sports Delegate.
Part of his new responsibilities will be to strengthen the development and implementation of the mentoring system, aligned with the club's identity, in addition to representing the club in cultural, sports and soccer environments in Mexico and the United States. He will also be part of the development of plans and work processes in our official Rebaño Chivas schools.
Jesús Sánchez represents everything what Chivas stands for, he is an example of resilience and love for the team, and he lives and breathes Chivas' values. His incursion into this new phase is part of a larger project with which the club seeks to provide continuity of careers to its players when their soccer careers end.
"I am very happy to join this project from the other side. Today begins a new stage in my career and I am also very passionate about it".
"I am happy to be able to contribute my knowledge to those who need it and to continue learning every day."
Some time before making the decision to retire, Jesús began studying for a Master's Degree in Sports Management and a career as a Coach, visualizing the next step in his life to be able to apply all his knowledge, passion and the human warmth that has always characterized him.
All of us at Chivas are very happy that Jesus will remain in the institution and we know that his love and commitment to the Rebaño Sagrado is more than demonstrated.
Success in this new assignment, 'Chapo'!
