According to NewsAtDen, the striker is keen to prove himself with the Lions after a difficult first 12 months with the club.

The 28-year-old joined the South Bermondsey outfit last year from League Two club Notts County in a deal worth a reported £700,000.

He contributed to just one goal and two assists from 34 appearances in his first campaign in the Championship, starting on 14 occasions.

As per NewsAtDen's report, Langstaff is said to be determined to show that he can compete at Championship level next season with the Lions.

It has been claimed that the 28-year-old is confident he can improve his performance levels and show he still has a role to play in the second tier squad.

The forward’s difficult first campaign at The Den has led to some speculation that a departure might be manufactured this summer.

However, it’s believed that he is now looking to fight for his place in Alex Neil’s side, with Millwall hoping to fight for a top six finish again next year as they did in the second half of 2024-25.

Langstaff’s struggles in front of goal meant he was mostly used as a secondary option following Neil’s appointment as manager in December, with Mihailo Ivanovic preferred.

It remains to be seen whether Millwall will be convinced to keep Langstaff in a prominent role, or if they will look to cash in on him this summer, despite the fact he wants to stay.

Langstaff made the jump up to the Championship from League Two after spending most of his career in non league, so it’s no surprise that he struggled initially to adapt to a much higher level.

However, he just never really found a groove in his debut season, falling behind other options and essentially becoming a permanent back-up striker.

If Langstaff can have some good showings during pre-season though and the start of the new season, then that will really boost his standing at The Den, should he still be around at that time.

However, you get the feeling that it will be difficult for him to make that leap at the age 28, and the Lions may be tempted to cash in if a good enough offer does arrive this summer.
