Jordyn Bloomer's announcement of a contract extension to Racing Louisville through 2026 represents another pivotal chapter both for the team and for the 27-year-old goalkeeper. This deal is more than just a renewal; it's about trust, strategic vision, and a club willing to invest in retaining players who help define its identity within the NWSL.
Jordyn Bloomer is not one to seek headlines or steal the spotlight, yet her value to Racing Louisville goes way beyond recognition. Since being picked in the second round of the 2022 NWSL Draft, the goalkeeper has shown consistent resilience and an upward growth path.
While her appearances for the club have been limited, she has taken full advantage of every opportunity to show her abilities. A prime example came in the 2024 NWSL x Liga MXF Summer Cup, where she delivered standout performances, including five key saves against CF Monterrey and two penalty stops in a shootout win over Orlando Pride.
These moments underlined what goalkeeper coach Sergio Gonzalez had to say: Bloomer is dedicated, works hard, and pushes people around her to improve constantly.
"We had the opportunity to witness what Jordyn brings into play during the 2024 Summer Cup and how much of an influence she can have for our team," said Gonzalez. "Her dedication and personality are exactly what we want here at Racing. Bloom is a fantastic teammate - she's always pushing herself and elevating those around her. I look forward to seeing what Jordyn's future holds."
Bloomer's renewal also shows depth and strength in the goalkeeping roster that Racing Louisville boast, which is shared with talents like Katie Lund, a finalist for the 2023 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year award, Olivia Sekany, and Madison White, to name a few. Competition is well and truly fierce internally.
But rather than being an obstacle, the good competition lifted the entire level of the group's performance. Head coach Bev Yanez said, "She works hard and always continues to push people around her.
