Andy Carroll scored his first goal for Reading as they beat Swansea City 3-2 away at the Swansea.com Stadium.

It was a frantic game in which both sides went for the win with Reading coming out on top. But it was Andy Carroll who grabbed the plaudits after he scored his first goal for the club.

The former Newcastle, Liverpool and West Ham forward arrived on a free transfer following his release from Newcastle in the summer and has already endeared himself to supporters.

Swansea did take the lead in this game in the third minute through Jamie Paterson before Tom Dele-Bashiru equalised just a minute later.

It was the man of the moment Andy Carroll who put Reading in front before half-time as he broke the offside trap to run through and slot it past Swans ‘keeper Ben Hamer.

Swansea equalised shortly in the 49th minute through Ryan Manning before Danny Drinkwater grabbed what proved to be the winner just a minute later.

However, it was Carroll’s name that was on everyone’s lips as he capped a brilliant performance with a goal.
