Weston McKennie and West Ham-linked midfielder Denis Zakaria are both expected to leave Juventus this summer, according to reports in Italy.

Zakaria spent last season on loan at Chelsea, making 13 appearances across all competitions.

A year on from the Blues signing Saul Niguez on loan, only for it to end up being an utterly pointless addition, they did the same again with Zakaria, who was an unused substitute on 17 occasions in 2022/23.

He made his debut for the club in November in the Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb, scoring his side’s winning goal.

Zakaria’s Premier League debut did not come until December 27 and after doing pretty well in the 2-0 win against Bournemouth, he started five matches in a row before sustaining a hamstring injury.

The injury came at the worst possible time for the Switzerland midfielder, who played less than 130 minutes in Chelsea’s final 24 fixtures of the campaign.

Having impressed when given the chance, Zakaria could be given another opportunity in the Premier League.

According to reports, the 26-year-old is attracting interest from Europa Conference League winners West Ham.

Tuttosport claimed over the weekend that Zakaria will return to London to sign for the Hammers in a deal worth around €20million.

And now Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) says the Swiss international has a ‘0 per cent’ chance of staying at Juventus this summer.

Zakaria will come in as one of the replacements for Arsenal-bound Declan Rice and should cost around a fifth of what the Gunners are paying to sign the England midfielder.

The Italian outlet says West Ham ‘could close’ the deal ‘this week’ and Zakaria is not the only player in Juventus’ squad with no future at the club.

Arthur, who spent last season with Liverpool, and Weston McKennie, who joined Leeds United on loan in January, both have a 0 per cent chance of staying.

On a side note, Gazzetta dello Sport has Paul Pogba, Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic’s chances of leaving at 50 per cent.

On Saturday, Calciomercato said Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund are both competing for the signing of Juventus ‘flop’ McKennie.

The report says the American midfielder’s loan to Leeds was a ‘fiasco’ as he struggled to perform in the Whites’ failed bid to avoid relegation to the Championship.

Juventus had initially hoped Leeds would sign McKennie for €40m, but they know their asking price has to be reduced, and Villa are ‘new, ambitious and wealthy’.

Contacts are ‘in progress’ with Unai Emery’s side, though no bid has been lodged at this stage.
