In a recent report, talkSPORT stated that West Ham United are keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. It has been mentioned that the Hammers are set to rival Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the English talent.

Gibbs-White’s Impressive Form At The City Ground

Gibbs-White has enjoyed a solid campaign at the Midlands club as he has put in a series of eye-catching performances for them at the centre of the park. The English midfield ace has scored four goals and grabbed five assists in 33 matches for Nottingham this season across multiple competitions.

The 24-year-old has been a reliable performer in the opponent’s half and deserves credit for averaging 1.9 shots, 1.8 key passes, 1.4 crosses and 1.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he needs to improve his ball distribution after completing 74.5% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the City Ground will run out in the summer of 2027. Therefore, it won’t be easy for the Hammers to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Is Gibbs-White A Good Choice For West Ham United Boss David Moyes?

Gibbs-White can strike the ball with venom and precision from long range and can make a few intelligent runs with the ball in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He has even got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third.

We can expect Gibbs-White to add more energy and dynamism to West Ham boss David Moyes’ first XI. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder if needed.

Gibbs-White has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting spot at the London Stadium next season. Therefore, it makes sense for the Hammers to move in for the English sensation in the upcoming transfer window.

At 24, Gibbs-White’s best years are ahead of him which makes him an excellent choice for West Ham to consider at the end of this campaign. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to settle into life at the East London club if Moyes can devise a way to snap him up later this year.
