In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Rudy Galetti mentioned that West Ham United are eyeing a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Hugo Ekitike. It has been stated that the Hammers could face competition in the form of Crystal Palace in the race to land the French talent.
Ekitike has endured a frustrating season at the French club as he has struggled to earn regular playing time for them in Ligue 1. The 21-year-old has made one appearance for PSG during this campaign across all fronts.
The French forward is in dire need of more playing time if he wants to continue to mature as a footballer and prove his worth in top-flight football. Hence, West Ham could be an ideal destination for him next year as he would have a good chance of securing more game time in the coming years.
His current contract at Parc des Princes will run out in the summer of 2027. Hence, the Hammers will have to make a good offer if they want to recruit the French talent this January or at the end of this campaign.

Ekitike is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He can be a streaky goal-scorer in the final third when he is playing regularly and with confidence on the pitch. However, the French starlet has struggled to earn regular playing opportunities at Paris Saint-Germain this season which has put his long-term future in doubt.
Thus, it makes sense for West Ham boss David Moyes to try and arrange a move for him in 2024. Ekitike will add more quality and depth to the East London club‘s squad. At 21, he has the potential to become a future star in European football.
However, Ekitike might need time to adjust to the physical side and high intensity of English football if the Hammers manage to get him on board soon. Still, there is no denying that the French prospect could go on to become a success story at the London Stadium. Thus, he would be a great fit for West Ham’s needs in the long run.
