FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Hammers this afternoon.
Skinner returns to Barclays Women’s Super League management less than five months after her spell in charge of former club Spurs came to an end. Skinner spent almost two-and-a-half years with The Lilywhites in which she helped the club to further cement their place in the top tier.
West Ham United have been searching for a new manager since former boss Paul Konchesky left his position at the end of last season and Skinner’s excellent understanding of both the club and international games made her the perfect replacement.
After being appointed West Ham United manager, Skinner said “I’m delighted to be joining West Ham United. There have been a lot of conversations between myself and senior figures at the Club around what the plans are moving forward, and I’m just really excited at the prospect of leading the team.
“I think the big thing for me is that the Club is well established and there’s been some fantastic work done before now. Now we are at a stage where we really want to drive that forward and progress on that previous work.
“There is a great sense of togetherness, along with serious long-term ambition at West Ham United. I think the challenge of delivering that is really exciting, and I’m really looking forward to having the opportunity to work with the players and lead towards the vision that the Club has.”
Skinner will link-up with her new club next month.
