Wes Foderingham looks set to make the move to the London Stadium on a free transfer.

Highlights West Ham is bolstering their goalkeeping department with the addition of Wes Foderingham for the upcoming season. The departure of Anang and Knightbridge leaves the Hammers in need of more depth in the goalkeeper position. Sheffield United will need to secure a new goalkeeper following the exits of Foderingham and Amissah for the upcoming season.

West Ham United have agreed personal terms to recruit Sheffield United goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, according to an update from Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The goalkeeping department is one that needs to be addressed by the Irons this summer, with Joseph Anang set to be released at the end of this month.

Not only is Anang leaving, but Jacob Knightbridge has also left to join Oxford United in the Championship, with the young stopper potentially set to get more opportunities to shine at the Kassam Stadium than he would have done at the London Stadium.

With the U's yet to replace Jamie Cumming and Des Buckingham potentially reluctant to have Simon Eastwood as his first-choice shot-stopper for next season, Knightbridge could establish himself as an important figure at Oxford in the short term.

In terms of West Ham, they have Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski at their disposal, but the lack of depth in this area means another shot-stopper needs to be recruited.

Julen Lopetegui will not want to leave himself short of options in this area, as he looks to make a bright start to life at his new club after succeeding David Moyes.

Some Hammers fans will be expecting big things from Lopetegui - and having a strong goalkeeping department could be crucial for him as he looks to leave the Irons in a better place than he found them.

Wes Foderingham set to join West Ham United

Even though Foderingham played a big part in guiding the Blades back to the top flight, the Blades opted against retaining him beyond the end of his contract, which expires this summer.

Jordan Amissah is another stopper who has been released, so there's work for Chris Wilder to do in this area in the coming months.

A U-turn by the Blades to try and keep Foderingham wouldn't have been a bad idea, but he looks set to join the Irons after agreeing personal terms.

That's according to Sky Sports journalist Sheth, who has revealed that the experienced stopper will put pen to paper on a two-year deal in the English capital.

Sheffield United have plenty of work to do in the goalkeeping area this summer

Ivo Grbic remains at Bramall Lane, but both Foderingham and Amissah have left.

With this in mind, at least one shot-stopper will be required at Bramall Lane to provide the Blades with a sufficient number of options in this area during the 2024/25 campaign.

With takeover certainty likely to affect their summer plans, it will be interesting to see who they end up pursuing in the coming weeks.

The free-agent market could come in handy for United and they may also want to make full use of the loan market to minimise costs.

Foderingham could have been a good option to have next season - and it's a shame that he will be unable to play a part in getting the club back to the top flight following the Blades' relegation at the end of last term.

But a move to the London Stadium will give him a new environment to try and thrive in.
