The Hammers have already signed Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund this summer in order to reinforce their forward line.
However, West Ham are still pondering signing one more striker before the window closes on 30th August.
According to Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Hammers are giving serious consideration to the idea of signing the Roma attacker.
West Ham admire the Roma hitman and are weighing up making an offer to sign the striker in the final weeks of the transfer window.
Roma are open to offers for Abraham and are prepared to sell for a deal worth up to €30m this summer.
The striker also has suitors in Italy where AC Milan are interested in signing him before the end of the window.
