West Ham beat AEK Larnaca 4-0 on Thursday to qualify for the Europa Conference League quarter-finals.
Scorer: Scamacca 20′, Bowen 47′, 49′, Mubama 65′
Red: Lees 45′
Following a Michail Antonio double in the first leg, West Ham controlled the pitch at home to AEK Larnaca.
Following weeks of media scrutiny, Gianluca Scamacca hit back at the doubters and scored the opening goal within 20 minutes of action.
His driving run into the box, followed by close control skills, beat Kenan Pirić and added some insurance for David Moyes with his fifth European goal.
Pablo Fornals then took centre stage after his curling effort hit the crossbar, and then the midfielder demonstrated some extreme sportsmanship before the break.
The West Ham ace was on the receiving end of a dangerous challenge as Gustavo Ledes flew in with studs up and connected with his ankle.
VAR insisted the visiting ace should be sent off, but Fornals begged the referee not to listen to the ruling though his pleas fell short.
With a man advantage, the hosts then piled on the misery en route to a statement win.
A two-minute brace immediately after the restart from Jarrod Bowen put Moyes’ side into cruise control with 30 minutes to go.
Eventually, 18-year-old Divin Mubama came off the bench to add a fourth and West Ham moved on 6-0 on aggregate.
