Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku is set to join AC Milan after the two clubs reached a verbal agreement over a €35million deal including add-ons, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano reports that documents will be prepared today, with Nkunku having already agreed terms on a five-year contract with the Serie A side.
The French international moved to Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 but his first season was disrupted by a series of injuries.
Nkunku managed only limited appearances in Chelsea blue, scoring three goals in his first campaign but 18 over the last two years across all competitions.
This summer has seen significant changes in Chelsea’s attacking department, with João Pedro and Liam Delap among the new arrivals.
With Nicolas Jackson also facing an uncertain future at the club, outgoings have become a necessity to balance both squad numbers and finances.
Nkunku’s departure, once finalised, would mark the end of a frustrating two-year spell in London and offer him a fresh start in Italy with Milan.
