West Ham United legend Tony Cottee has slammed ‘classless’ board for hanging David Moyes out to dry.

The ex-Everton boss is set to be without a contract at the end of the season but the Hammers are not expected to hand him a new deal.

The club have held talks with Julen Lopetegui and Ruben Amorim as they are actively seeking a replacement for Moyes.

Cottee, who made over 250 senior appearances as a striker for West Ham, is unhappy with how the board have treated the 61-year-old.

West Ham suffered a humiliating defeat on Sunday as Chelsea cruised past them 5-0 at Stamford Bridge.

They have won just one of their previous ten matches in all competitions, losing five and drawing four.

David Moyes’ side will host Luton Town on Saturday before travelling to Manchester City for their final game of the season.

The Scot’s final campaign is drawing to an unsatisfactory conclusion as they are set to miss out on a place in Europe next season.

However, Moyes deserves respect from the supporters for his incredible work at the London Stadium.

He saved the club twice from relegation to the Championship and led them to their first trophy in 43 years last summer.
