Striker Marko Arnautovic could leave Inter Milan this summer if an offer comes in from the Saudi Pro League.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipates that coach Simone Inzaghi would accept the Austrian’s departure if the club sign a top-level forward.

At the moment, Arnautovic is under contract with Inter until the end of next June.

The Austrian signed a two-year deal with the Nerazzurri when he joined from Bologna last summer.

Therefore, it is not as though Arnautovic will be departing at the end of his deal this summer. He will still be under contract with Inter.

However, there have been some recent rumours that Arnautovic could leave one season before the end of his contract.,

And according to the Gazzetta, Inter will certainly be willing to listen to offers.

There would be a couple conditions that would have to be met in order for Arnautovic to leave.

The first would be that the club strengthen in attack to compensate for the 35-year-old’s exit.

Arnautovic may not have been a first-choice starter this season by any means. But he is a player who coach Inzaghi trusts to do a job as a focal point in attack,

Arnautovic underlined his qualities with his decisive brace in yesterday’s 2-2 Serie A thriller against Hellas Verona.

Inzaghi would be more than happy to keeper Arnautovic around next season. The veteran striker is also a positive presence in the Inter dressing room, reports the Gazzetta.

But on the other hand, Inter are already bringing in Mehdi Taremi from Porto.

The Iranian is a striker with a similar profile to Arnautovic.

Therefore, Inzaghi is hoping to add another forward with a different profile – the dream target is Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson.

If Gudmundsson is to arrive in addition to Taremi, Inzaghi would be willing to lose Arnautovic.

The other condition for Arnautovic to leave would be a suitable financial offer.

Inter are not going to offload the 35-year-old for a cut-price fee.

The Nerazzurri paid close to €10 million to sign Arnautovic last summer from Bologna. So they will want around half of what they paid at least, to avoid a capital loss.

And the Gazzetta report that, in this respect, a club from the Saudi Pro League would be the likeliest to come in with a bid of that size.
