With the Baggies currently in the promotion race, how has the attendance varied so far at the Hawthorns this season.

West Bromwich Albion have got off to a brilliant start under Carlos Corberan this season with the Baggies sitting comfortably in the promotion race.

Corberan has conducted some great performances so far this season and West Brom are hoping they can end their absence from the Premier League.

Before Tuesday night, they were unbeaten, and unbeaten at home, but Michael Carrick's Middlesbrough ended any chance of the Baggies going undefeated at the Hawthorns.

West Brom averaged a home attendance of 23,006 last season, according to Transfermarkt, and so far this season they are trumping that significantly with an average of 24,957 coming through the door at the Hawthorns.

Despite a higher figure, only three goals have been scored in the opening four at home for the Baggies.

Here is every attendance at the Hawthorns so far this season, according to Transfermarkt's figures, ranked from lowest to highest.

4 West Brom 0-1 Middlesbrough - 23,769

Funnily enough, their first defeat of the season also happened to be the lowest attendance on this list.

The reality of this is, because it is the first Tuesday night game that has taken place at the Hawthorns, fans would probably opt not to go during mid-week even despite Albion's impressive form.

A few more numbers may have prevented this, but Carrick's men secured a vital win in their race for promotion after Hayden Hackney's strike pegged the Baggies back in the table.

The lowest attendance and statistically the worst game for a Baggies fan at the Hawthorns so far this season.

3 West Brom 1-0 Swansea City - 24,975

A serious step up from the Boro game, with this being the Baggies' second home game of the season.

Jayson Molumby's goal just before half-time, once again, proved to be the only goal for the home faithful, but a win is a win.

Compared to Tuesday night's fixture, it shows a difference of 1,206, really explaining fans' preferred slot for an outing on the weekend.

Not enthralling games to watch at the Hawthorns, but a case of getting the job done at the Hawthorns.

2 West Brom 0-0 Leeds United - 25,329

The first time the 25,000 mark was hit this season was when Corberan's side met promotion rivals Leeds.

This game coming second on the list comes as no surprise with the Whites' brilliant support away from home, bringing 2,535 fans from Yorkshire.

As for the game itself, it didn't exactly spark any fireworks.

Much was expected of the encounter between two impressive outfits, but a bore draw left the 25,000+ feeling dull for sure.

Surprisingly, topping the Leeds game was the Baggies' triumph versus Wayne Rooney's Plymouth Argyle.

The game itself was again low-scoring, with the in-form Josh Maja scoring his only goal at the Hawthorns so far this season in the 62nd minute after a cagey affair.

Argyle's brilliant away support has certainly brought this figure to the surface as the highest, as despite a three and a half hour drive, over 2,000 Pilgrims made the trip.

The Baggies will be happy that the football is flourishing, and if this continues, expect crowds to stay at this sort of capacity.
