Chelsea will lock horns with Leicester City at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, hoping to pick up a win and lift their first silverware of the season. The Blues will be coming into the match on the back of a disappointing 1-0 loss against eighth-placed Arsenal, whereas the Foxes recorded a 2-1 victory over Manchester United.

Thomas Tuchel will probably opt for the 3-4-3 formation with a few tweaks from the last game. Timo Werner might get the nod over Kai Havertz, whereas Mateo Kovacic looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.

Defence

Kepa Arrizabalaga will start in between the sticks for the upcoming cup clash.

“He (Kepa) starts the cup final, and we thought it was a good idea to give him the game before.” – Thomas Tuchel revealed.

The Spanish shot-stopper will hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Saturday.

Thiago Silva is expected to start at the heart of Blues’ backline, whereas Antonio Rudiger will replace Kurt Zouma at the left centre-back spot. Cesar Azpilicueta will fulfil the right centre-back position.

However, their main objective will be to keep Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho quiet throughout the ninety minutes.

Midfield

Mateo Kovacic looks likely to make his return this weekend.

“We have to postpone his personal race, it’s on to try to make it into the squad for Wembley.” – Tuchel stated in his pre-match press conference.

As a result, Kovacic and Jorginho might fulfil the holding midfield positions, with the former occupying a more central role. The pair would be looking to dominate the midfield proceedings.

Ben Chilwell will start at the left wing-back position, whereas Reece James will fill in on the other flank as the right wing-back.

Attack

Mason Mount and Hakim Ziyech will slot into the attacking midfield roles. The duo would be determined to set up some clear cut goal-scoring chances for the front-men.

Timo Werner will lead the line for the Blues this weekend. The German international would be hoping to find the back of the net when he faces off against the Leicester defence that has kept just one clean sheet in their last five league games.

Kai Havertz might come on to make a cameo appearance in the second forty-five minutes.
