Kicker reports that Werder Bremen are pushing to sign Copenhagen forward Mikkel Kaufmann who spent the previous season on loan at Karlsruhe.
Bremen have already held negotiations with the 22-year-old and have presented an offer. Kaufmann is expected to make his decision this week. The cost for the forward could be around €1m.
The issue for Bremen is the fact that they are not the only club interested. Three other clubs from the Bundesliga including VfB Stuttgart are interested in Kaufmann. Two clubs from Belgium and France have also shown interest in the Dane.
Bremen have already signed Fortuna Düsseldorf striker Dawid Kownacki on a free transfer. These signings could indicate that Marvin Ducksch and Niclas Füllkrug are both free to leave the club in the summer as both have attracted interest from Germany and abroad.
Kaufmann played 32 times for Karlsruhe during his loan spell, the 22-year-old was able to score 10 times and assisted eight as Karlsruhe finished seventh in the 2.Bundesliga.
