Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota announced as Liverpool players
The biggest transfer news in Merseyside this week has of course been the announcements of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota as Liverpool players.
After a tiresome transfer window of speculation, Thiago finally became a Liverpool player this week, signing from Bayern Munich for a fee of £27 million.
Though the Thiago signing had been expected for a while, the signing of Jota from Wolves seemed to come from nowhere, and just a day after the transfer was first rumoured, Liverpool completed the signing of the 23-year-old for a fee of £41 million which could rise to £45m.
Thiago made his debut as a substitute against Chelsea on Sunday and Jota went on to make his debut in Liverpool’s cup tie with Lincoln last night.
Crystal Palace interested in Rhian Brewster
According to Sky Sports, Jurgen Klopp is prepared to let Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster leave this transfer window on a permanent transfer.
This will be a shame for a lot of Liverpool fans, many saw the striker as a future starting man. However, the Reds may need funds to cover the purchases of Thiago and Jota.
Crystal Palace are reportedly prepared to pay £19 million plus £6 million in add-ons for the 20-year-old. However, any deal has to include a buy-back option for Liverpool.
Burnley make approach for Harry Wilson
Burnley are interested in Liverpool’s Harry Wilson, according to BBC Sport.
Wilson has had loan spells at Crewe Alexandra, Hull City, Derby County and most recently Bournemouth during his time at Liverpool.
The club are now considering letting the 23-year-old leave on a permanent basis.
The Welsh international made 31 Premier League appearances and scored seven goals during his time at Bournemouth last season.
Ki-Jana Hoever joins Wolves
Liverpool defender Ki-Jana Hoever joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent transfer this week for a fee of £13.5 million.
Hoever made four senior appearances for the Reds, scoring one goal in a Carabao Cup tie against Milton Keynes Dons last season.
Marko Grujic exit plan
Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has reportedly changed agents in an attempt to seal a permanent transfer away from the club this summer, according to Kicker.
Liverpool have reportedly now made interested parties aware that they are willing to sell the 24-year-old and are looking for a fee of £20 million.
