‘We can do better’ – Luis Enrique promises improvements despite PSG’s Coupe de France progression | OneFootball

In the aftermath of PSG’s 4-1 victory against US Orléans in the Coupe de France, Luis Enrique spoke to the media about his team’s performance. Kylian Mbappé (25) was the leading man once again for Les Parisiens as he was involved in all four goals (2 goals, 2 assists).

The French capital club have had an almost perfect start to 2024, with 4 wins, 17 goals scored and just one goal conceded. In quotes captured by Le Parisien, the former Spain national team coach commented on PSG’s start to 2024 saying, “We can do better. How? While working. This is the life of a PSG coach: we can only do better.”

As previously mentioned Kylian Mbappé was the starman for Les Parisiens on a night where complacency was unacceptable against inferior opposition. When asked about the France captain’s influence and performance, Luis Enrique said “We are used to this but these are normal performances for Kylian Mbappé. I don’t want to individualise performances. This match could have become difficult because of the temperature, the opponent who can push us to our limits.”

The former Barcelona manager handed a senior debut to Senny Malulu (17) on the night against Orléans and was instantly rewarded as the 17-year-old scored his first professional goal. Luis Enrique spoke about the youngster in high regard after the match saying, “It’s a very nice goal with a nice assist from Kylian Mbappé. This is consistent with what he shows in training. He can finish with both legs and play on one side, inside. This is very good news for the team. We can make very good transfers but also use Campus players like Senny, Warren, Ethan and many others.”
