From 25th to 27th April 2025, the PSG Academy Cup France once again showed Paris Saint-Germain’s ambition when it comes to developing young talent and giving them a structured footballing setup. In an atmosphere that was simultaneously competitive and friendly, this large-scale event brought together 350 players split across 44 teams that had come to Paris from all four corners of France.
This exceptional weekend kicked off on the Friday evening with a high-profile meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and OGC Nice at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1, before the matches themselves got underway the next day on the PSG Academy pitches on Île de Puteaux, a strategic location in the immediate vicinity of the Camping de Paris, where the teams from the provinces were staying.
PSG Academy sides from Strasbourg, Grenoble, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Lyon, Lille, Dijon, Clermont-Ferrand and Montpellier all rose to the occasion, thereby demonstrating the initiative's national reach, while teams from the Île-de-France area – namely Ivry-sur-Seine, Asnières, Meudon and Orsay – were also there to proudly represent themselves.
The PSG Academy Cup France isn't just a football tournament; it's an immersive experience for young people. Beyond the matches, activities like the top-corner challenge or the panna zone gave the players the chance to have fun and to challenge each other in a playful manner.
The winners of the top-corner challenge were Jad, an U11 player for Ivry-sur-Seine, who went home with a shirt signed by Warren Zaïre-Emery, and Yanis, an U13 player for Asnières, who received a shirt signed by Ousmane Dembélé, making for an unforgettable moment for both young hopefuls as they came face to face with the elite level.
On the pitch, the competition was fierce. In the U10/U11 category, PSG Academy Grenoble came out on top by beating Puteaux, while in the U12/U13 category, PSG Academy Toulouse Sept-Deniers got their revenge with a dominant display against their Bordeaux counterparts. These performances underlined the richness of Paris Saint-Germain's pool of young talent in France and the quality of the work done by its partner academies to develop that talent.
With the 2025 PSG Academy Cup France having very much met expectations, attentions will now turn to the PSG Academy World Cup, which is due to kick off on 17th May. This international tournament will bring together Paris Saint-Germain's best academies from around the globe, with France set to be well-represented by a selection of its most talented young footballers, who are ready to defend their country with pride and to carry its ambitions onto the world stage.
