An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Monday continued a stellar run of individual form on the international front.
The player in question? Fermín López.
Youngster Fermín, for his part, was afforded his latest starting berth this evening, as Spain locked horns with Morocco in the semi-finals of the Olympic games.
The 21-year-old proved himself the star of the show in the prior round, in netting a brilliant brace en route to a 3-0 downing of Japan.
And, against Morocco, Fermín stood as difference-maker once more.
After Spain found themselves in a one-goal hole, the Barcelona youth product took the game by the scruff of the neck, levelling things up courtesy of another fine finish, before laying on La Roja’s decisive 2nd late on.
Fermín has now found the net on four occasions at the Olympics, with his latest composed left-footed strike showcased below:
