However, the ever-reliable Florian Wirtz was in the right place at the right time to redirect a cross into the box for the equaliser.

Neither side could find the net again despite a staggering 40 shots combined, and it will go down as a wasted chance for both.

Looking at the table, Leverkusen have a four point lead on Bayern with Stuttgart one point off them in third.
