Antonio Briseño is reported to have sparked a row on the Chivas bench at the end of Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Toluca.
The 10-man Flock, who had Carlos Cisneros sent off in the 24th minute, seemed destined to claim an unlikely three points on the back of substitute José Juan Macías’ second-half goal.
But Leonardo Fernández finished a mazy dribble by rifling home off the upright to earn the hosts a share of the points at the Estadio Nemesio Díez.
According to TUDN, unused sub Briseño had urged Alexis Vega to waste some time just prior to Fernández’s 97th-minute effort.
When the Toluca striker scored, Briseño reportedly turned to the bench and said: “I told you so.”
César Huerta took exception to the comment and that led to tempers flaring in the Los Rojiblancos camp.
The heated exchanges reportedly continued on into dressing room, though it remained a verbal spat.
Eventually peace was restored, with no sign of any lingering animosity when the team trained at Verde Valle on Sunday.
