Villarreal submit €17m bid for Reims’ Keito Nakamura | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, Villarreal have attempted to prise Keito Nakamura (25) from Stade de Reims late in the transfer window after securing Georges Mikautadze (24) from Olympique Lyonnais.

The Spanish side sent an offer of €18m, including bonuses, to the Ligue 2 side. However, Reims reportedly did not respond to the attempt to lure their player away. The Champagne club had already rejected an offer of €15m from Turkish side Beşiktaş. Unlike Villarreal who have until this evening to finish their business. The Turkish club can recruit until the 12th of September.

Reims have seen their squad picked apart since their relegation to Ligue 2. Few of the core group have remained. Junya Ito has left, as have Yehvann Diouf, Amadou Koné, Nhoa Sangui, Mamadou Diakhon, and Thibault De Smet. After four games in Ligue 2, Nakamura has yet to appear for Reims this season.
