With Pau Lopez set to join Cesc Fabregas’ Como in the coming days, Marseille are on the lookout for a new starting goalkeeper. They’ve set their sights of two of the best from last season’s La Liga campaign.
As reported by Relevo, Filip Jorgensen is the first of those wanted by Marseille. Roberto De Zerbi is a fan of the Danish ‘keeper, but the chances of a deal taking place are slim. Villarreal want to keep him, and the only way that an agreement can be reached is if €20m was received by the Yellow Submarine.
A more realistic deal for Marseille is Alvaro Valles, who was in sensational form for Las Palmas during the 2023-24 season. Recent reports had suggested that an offer of €10m was accepted by the Gran Canaria-based side, but Relevo say that this is not the case. For now, there’s strong interest, but negotiations are not advanced.
A further obstacle for Marseille with the Valles deal is that the 26-year-old has his heart set on a return to Real Betis this summer. This could make it difficult to agree personal terms, even if Las Palmas accepted an offer.
